Social Conflict Theory divides the society into different social classes and believes that these social groups compete for the power, distribution of resources, etc and this results in  social conflict.

The interaction among social groups or individuals is a result of conflicts among the groups instead of consensus that rises because of the inequality in the society.

Thus this theory is based on the social conflicts between stratified classes or the social groups in which one group get benefited at the expense of the other social group.
