Sheryl borrows patrick’s hedge trimmer (at no cost) to trim the hedges that border her front lawn. while sheryl is trimming her hedges, the phone rings inside her house, and she goes to answer it. while she is on the call, a group of neighborhood boys comes by and, finding the hedge trimmer in sheryl’s front yard, steals it. because this arrangement is a bailment for the sole benefit of the bailee, sheryl will be held liable to patrick for the loss of the hedge trimmer because sheryl breached her duty of to protect the trimmer.
