How did the railroads afford the opportunity to build and expand? why is this significant?

Railroads created subsidies as subsidies an industry by allowing the producers to produce more goods and services. this increases the overall supply of that good or service, increases the quantity demanded for that good or service and lowers the overall price of the good or service. railroads can many get across areas causing less unemployment and more jobs for workers (to work on the railroads). by 1900, much of the nation's railroad system was in place. the railroad opened the way for the settlement of the west, provided new economic opportunities, stimulated the development of town and communities, and generally tied the country together. when the railroads were shut down during the great railroad strike of 1894, the true importance of the railroads was fully realized.
