The comparison level is work on how much rewards a person gets through the comparison level it depends on high self-esteem. if a person gets many rewards the person has high self-esteem.  if a person is getting low rewards then the person has low self-esteem lower expectation and if the comparison is equal then people think life is worth pursuing.

comparison level of alternatives:

In this process person seeing whether a potential relationship is much worth rewarding than the current relationship. people stick their current relationship as much as they think less about the alternatives of exchange theory. some psychologists said that if a person finds content in his current relationship then he doesn't try to find out the alternatives.
