Humans need energy for whatever function we develop. Houses must be heated, energy is needed for the development of industry and agriculture and even in our body there is a constant flow of energy. All the processes that provide us with the luxuries and comforts in our daily life require an energy expenditure. This is an industrial process that can be developed through the use of different sources. These sources can be renewable and non-renewable. Renewable energy sources are replaced over time and therefore do not disappear easily. However, non-renewable energy sources are threatened and may disappear if the use is high.

Nowadays, many renewable energy sources are used, for example solar, wind and hydraulic energy. Ironically, today we still use as higher energy resources those from non-renewable energy sources, or fossil fuels. Since these sources are not renewable, they will tend to rise in price to levels where their use will not be economically satisfactory.

Historically, fossil fuels are available in large quantities easily obtainable and transported. However, there are clear signs that the sources of fossil fuel supply are limited and depleted and that their replacement could take centuries. Both the sources and sinks of fossil fuels are limited. The sources exist in deep layers of land and sinks, for example, air and water, which absorbs the residual products of these fossil fuels.

Why do we use fossil fuels extensively yet? The question is simple: because it is cheaper than other alternatives that exist today. Some environmental scientists predict that the prices of fossil fuels will increase over time due to their scarcity in the market.
