The United States and Great Britain shared territory in the West that later became Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and parts of Montana and Wyoming.

After the Oregon Treaty of 1846, the Oregon Territory was split between the US and Great Britain. Britain recieved land north of the 49th Parallel Latitude line and the US recieved land south of the line.
