Regarding the four main needs for meaning that guide how people try to make sense of their lives (baumeister and vohs, 2002), the involves the belief that one can make a difference in the world.

Roy Baumeister and Kathleen Vohs identified four needs of the meaningful life: 1. need for purpose - purposes consist of goals and achievements. 2. need for values - helps people to separate right from wrong. 3. need for the sense of efficacy - people believe that they have the power to change their environment. 4. need for self-worth - people want to become good people.
