Explanation: Sun plays a vital role in controlling the earth's climatic condition. Our earth is slightly tilted and the incoming solar radiations are directly incident on the equatorial and the tropical region, due to which it experiences a relatively high temperature.

             But as we move towards the higher latitude, we observe that the temperature frequently drops down. It is because the radiations from the sun needs to travel a longer path through the atmosphere, which gets scattered or absorbed, thereby making it difficult to reach the poles. So the polar regions are cold enough due to less sunlight.
