A 24.5 N cart is released from rest on a 1.0 meter long frictionless plane that is inclined at an angle of 30 degrees . This cart accelerates down the incline and strikes a 36.8 N crate which is at rest at the base of the incline and positioned along a connecting horizontal surface. The two objects stick together upon impact. Determine: (a) with what initial speed will they move along the horizontal surface? (b) if the solid friction force between the objects and the horizontal surface is measured at 5.2 N, what time will elapse before these objects will come to rest? (c) how far along the horizontal surface will these two objects move before coming to rest?
