A billiard ball of mass 1.5 kg is moving in the +y-direction at 2.0 m/s and collides with a second billiard ball of mass 2.5 kg moving along in the –x-direction at 2.2 m/s. They collide. After the collision, the 1.5 kg ball moves at an angle of 50 degrees below the –x-axis and the 2.5 kg ball moves at an angle of 40 degrees above the –x-axis. Consider two less-than-desirable options. in the first you are driving 30 mph and crash head-on into an identical car also going 30 mph. in the second option you are driving 30 mph and crash head-on into a stationary brick wall. in neither case does your car bounce off the thing it hits, and the collision time is the same in both cases. which of these two situations would result in the greatest impact force?
