A car of mass 1,000 kg begins stationary on a road at the top of a mountain, at a height h = 3,000 m. The car then rolls freely down a winding road, travelling a total distance of 5 km, to reach the height h = 2,000 m. Assume g = 9.8 ms-2 1. How much energy did the car lose on descent? Give you answer to 3 significant figures, with units.

2. At this point, how much energy is stored in a gravitational potential store? Give your answer in kJ.

3. The car continues to roll down the mountain, where it reaches the bottom. Here the height h = 0 m. Assuming no further energy is lost and all the GPE from the top of the mountain is transformed into KE, what is the final velocity of the car? Give your answer to 3 significant figures.

Can someone please explain me how to do these? I have them in exams tomorrow.

Glass is transparent to visibile light under normal conditions; however, at extremely high intensities, glass will absorb most of the light incident upon it. this works through a process known as multiphoton absorption. in this process, several photons are absorbed at the same time. if very intense light whose photons carry 2ev of energy is shined onto a material with a band gap of 4ev, that light can be absorbed through two-photon absorption, because two photons have the right amount of energy to bridge the band gap. what is the minimum number of photons of 800-nm light that are needed to equal or exceed the band gap of fused silica glass

A200-n force is applied to the foot-operated air pump. the return spring s exerts a 2.6-n·m moment on member oba for this position. determine the corresponding compression force c in the cylinder bd. if the diameter of the piston in the cylinder is 40 mm, estimate the air pressure generated for these conditions. state any assumptions. enter a positive number for the compression force c.
