ENERGY BAR GRAPHS
1. Go to the following site: https://phet. colorado. edu/en/simulation/energy-skate-park
2. Click play to start the simulation
3. Click INTRO to begin
4. Leave all settings on the right side as is, but you are welcome to choose a skater.
5. In the top left corner, there is a green plus sign. Click that so that the Energy Bar
Graphs drop down for you to observe.
6. Click on the skater and drag them to various locations on the ramp to observe the
energy bar graph above. You can always pause the skater at a given location by clicking
the pause button on the bottom.
7. Complete the table below for each location you place the skater and the
energy/energies associated with that location.

Electric field of the earth. the earth has a net electric charge that causes a field at points near its surface equal to 150 n> c and directed in toward the center of the earth. (a) what magnitude and sign of charge would a 60-kg human have to acquire to overcome his or her weight by the force exerted by the earth’s electric field? (b) what would be the force of repulsion between two people each with the charge calculated in part (a) and separated by a distance of 100 m? is use of the earth’s electric field a feasible means of flight? why or why not?
