An experimental bicycle wheel is placed on a test stand so that it is free to turn on its axle. If a constant net torque of 8.00 Nm is applied to the tire for 5.00 s, the angular speed of the tire increases from 0 to 10 rad/s. The external torque is then removed, and the wheel is brought to rest by friction in its bearings in 60 s. Compute (a) the moment of inertia of the wheel about the rotation axis;
(b) the friction torque;
(c) the angular displacement made by the wheel in the 60-s time interval.

Water is siphoned from a large tank and discharges into the atmosphere through a 50-mm diameter tube. the end of the tube is b = 2.1 m below the tank bottom which is a = 7.4 m deep, and viscous effects are negligible. determine the maximum height h over which the water can be siphoned without cavitation occurring. atmospheric pressure is 101.4 kpa, and the water vapor pressure is 1.79 kpa (absolute)

At 20∘c, the hole in an aluminum ring is 2.800 cm in diameter. you need to slip this ring over a steel shaft that has a room-temperature diameter of 2.804 cm . 1. to what common temperature should the ring and the shaft be heated so that the ring will just fit onto the shaft? coefficients of linear thermal expansion of steel and aluminum are 12Γ—10βˆ’6 kβˆ’1 and23Γ—10βˆ’6 kβˆ’1 respectively.
