What is a unit?

A unit is an individual thing or person regarded as single and complete but which can also form an individual component of a larger or more complex whole.

Define SI system?

The International System of Units is the modern form of the metric system. It is the only system of measurement with an official status in nearly every country in the world.

What is the advantage of using SI system?

The greatest advantage of SI is that it has only one unit for each quantity (type of measurement). This means that it is never necessary to convert from one unit to another (within the system) and there are no conversion factors for students to memorize. For example, the one and only SI unit of length is the metre (m).
