A ball with a mass of 1.1 kg lies on the floor, a trolley with a mass of 0.60 kg stands on a horizontal table and a weight with a mass of 2.0 kg hangs in the wire according to the figure below. It is 0.3 m from the lowest point of the weight and the floor. Both the ball and the weight are attached to each other via wire that goes through the frictionless pulleys. When the weight falls down, the ball will be lifted and the trolley will move to the left. When the weight hits the floor, it stops, but the cart and ball continue their movement for a short while longer. How high will the ball reach the highest? Ignore friction.

Agas contained within a piston-cylinder assembly undergoes three processes in series: process 12: compression with pv= constant from 1 bar and 1 liter to 4 bar. process 23: constant pressure expansion to 1 liter. process 31: constant volume calculate the pressure and volume at each state, and sketch the processes on a p-vdiagram labeled with pressure and volume values at each numbered stat

Which of the following correctly describes what happens when an atomic bomb explodes? small pieces of fissionable material are joined and form a body with a mass greater than the critical mass, the relative number of neutrons escaping decreases, and a chain reaction and explosion result. large pieces of fissionable matter are brought together quickly and form a body with a mass smaller than the critical mass, the relative number of escaping neutrons increases, and a chain reaction and explosion result.
