I'm a little confused about what they want me to find? The two masses in the device shown in 6.14 are initially at rest at the same height. After they are released, the large mass m2, falls through a height h and hits the floor as the small mass, m1, rises through the height h.

a. Find the speed of the masses just before m2 lands, giving your answer in terms of m1, m2, g, and h. Assume the pulley have negligible mass and friction that can be ignored.
b. Evalute the answer to part a for the case when h = 1.2 m, m1 = 3.7 kg and m2 = 4.1 kg

Also, how would you find the total kinetic energy of the full device with just this information?

The place you get your hair cut has two nearly parallel mirrors 6.00 m apart. as you sit in the chair, your head is 2.00 m from the nearer mirror. looking toward this mirror, you first see your face and then, farther away, the back of your head. (the mirrors need to be slightly nonparallel for you to be able to see the back of your head, but you can treat them as parallel in this problem.) how far away does the back of your head appear to be?
