Mr. arnold's 5th grade science class did an experiment to see if mold would grow better on moist bread or on dry bread. each lab group was given two pieces of bread. they were to add 20 ml of water to one piece of bread and no water to the other piece of bread. they were also to keep both pieces of bread in a cool, dark place and to make daily observations of the bread. however, keisha and sam did not read the lab procedure carefully and they put 20 ml of water on one piece of bread and 40 ml of water on the other piece of bread.
at the conclusion of the experiment, mold had grown on both pieces of their bread. on which piece of bread did mold grow better?
a mold grew better on the moist bread.
b mold grew better on the bread kept in the dark.
c mold grew better on the dry bread.
d we don't know since keisha and sam added water to both pieces of bread.

To place a communications satellite into a geosynchronous orbit at an altitude of 22,240 mi above the surface of the earth, the satellite first is released from a space shuttle , which is in a circular orbit at an altitude of 185 mi, and then is propelled by an upper-stage booster to its final altitude. as the satellite passes through a, the booster's motor is fired to insert the satellite into an elliptic transfer orbit. the booster is again fired at b to insert the satellite into a geosynchronous orbit. knowing that the second firing increases the speed of the satellite by 4810ft/s, determine (a.) the speed of the satellite as it approaches b on the elliptic transfer orbit, (b.) the increase in speed resulting from the first firing at a.

Learning goal: to understand newton's 1st law. newton's principia states this first law of motion: an object subject to no net force maintains its state of motion, either at rest or at constant speed in a right line. this law may be restated as follows: if the sum of all forces acting on an object is zero, then the acceleration of that object is zero. mathematically this is just a special case of the 2nd law of motion, f⃗ =ma⃗ , when f⃗ =0. when studying newtonian mechanics, it is best to remember the 1st law in two ways: if the net force (i. e., sum of all forces) acting on an object is zero, the object will keep moving with constant velocity (which may be zero). if an object is moving with constant velocity, that is, with zero acceleration, then the net force acting on that object must be zero. complete the following sentences to see if you can apply these ideas. part a if a car is moving to the left with constant velocity, one can conclude that

You have a resistor and a capacitor of unknown values. first, you charge the capacitor and discharge it through the resistor. by monitoring the capacitor voltage on an oscilloscope, you see that the voltage decays to half its initial value in 3.00 ms . you then use the resistor and capacitor to make a low-pass filter. what is the crossover frequency fc?
