The center of Jupiter is 758,000,000,000 meters from the center of the sun. The mass of the sun is 2.00 x 10^30 kg. The mass of Jupiter is 1.90 x 10^27 kg. The gravitational constant, G, is 6.67 x 10^-11 N m^2/kg^2. (a) Solve for F gravity. (b) Using your answer to (a) [and knowing that F grav and F cent are the same thing] solve for the tangential velocity of Jupiter. (c) Using your answer to (b) calculate the period ("T") of Jupiter in seconds. (d) Convert your last answer to earth-years. (e) Does it take longer or shorter for Jupiter to go once around the sun, and does that imply that it is further or closer to the sun than Earth?
