A solid sphere of mass, M = 5.0 kg, and radius, R = 0.100 m is placed on two blocks so that it’s centre of mass lies at the origin as shown on the right. A bullet of mass, m = 0.100 kg, and with an x coordinate of b = 0.05 m strikes the sphere from below with a vertical velocity, v = 53 m/s and embeds in the sphere coming to rest at the location (-b,0) in the diagram below. Since there is no momentum in the horizontal direction, after the bullet hits the sphere , it will rise up to some maximum height and then fall back to it's initial position on the two blocks. While the sphere is in the air it will rotate. Through what angle (in degrees) will the sphere rotate when it makes contact with the two blocks again?

An engineer designs a roller coaster so that a car travels horizontally for 152 ft, then climbs 137 ft at an angle of 34.0° above the horizontal. it then moves 137 ft at an angle of 48.0° below the horizontal. if we take the initial horizontal motion of the car to be along the +x-axis, what is the car's displacement? (give the magnitude of your answer, in ft, to at least four significant figures and give the direction of your answer in degrees counterclockwise from the +x-axis.)
