Directions: Based on what you’ve read about the Earth and magnetic fields, do you think the Earth’s magnetic fields affect the world in strange ways? For example, some people believe that if people fly a plane through a place called the “Bermuda Triangle,” they disappear. In fact, several cases have been documented of this occurring. Also, some people believe that it is the Earth’s magnetic fields that create the “Northern Lights”—the waves of multi-colored light in the northern sky visible only during certain times of the year. What do you think? Do you think magnetism can affect things that way? Why or why not? Use the Text Editor to explain your thoughts and opinions.
