Explain why the following statement is either true or false: The idea that all matter consists of the elements was first introduced a few hundred years ago

So i say false because 500 years is more than a few years but i could be wrong. Because of Aristotle’s idea that al matter is made up of only four elements it was accepted for over 2000 years but only around 500 years ago did scientists start discovering all of the elements known today.
