Task : Design an experiment to investigate the relationship between mass and volume of water. Criterion B
I. Introduction & Abstract : What is the aim of the experiment?
Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space, while density is the mass per unit volume.
Density = mass/volume

The mass of fresh water is directly proportional to its volume because adding more water particles will increase the mass of water in addition to the space occupied by the particles which increases the volume at the same rate. By plotting the volume on the x-axis and the mass on the y-axis, the graph will show a straight line passing through the origin, where the density equals the slope of the line.

In this experiment, we will investigate the relationship between mass and volume of fresh water. We will also determine the density of freshwater at room temperature. This experiment will be done by measuring the mass of freshwater using an electronic balance and by changing the volume of freshwater added to the measuring cylinder.
