Two parallel rails with negligible resistance are 10.0cm apart and are connected by a 5.00Ω resistor. The circuit also contains two metal rods having resistance of 10.0Ω and 15.0Ω sliding along the rails. The rods are pulled away from the resistor at a constant speeds 8.00m/s and 4.00m/s respectively. A uniform magnetic field 0.010T is applied perpendicular to the plane of the rails. Determine the current in the 5.00Ω resistor. Calculate the total power needed to move the two rods at constant speed. (Express your answer in
W). (Note: This is the same as the power delivered by the induced emf's).

Aspring is used to stop a 50-kg package which is moving down a 20º incline. the spring has a constant k = 30 kn/m and is held by cables so that it is initially compressed 50 mm. knowing that the velocity of the package is 2 m/s when it is 8 m from the spring and neglecting friction, determine the maximum additional deformation of the spring in bringing the package to rest.
