Two cars, one of mass 1400 kg, and the second of mass 2200 kg, are moving at right angles to each other when they collide and stick together. The initial velocity of the first car is 10 m/s in the positive x direction and that of the second car is 19 m/s in the positive y direction. At the same time a third car of mass 1000 kg traveling at an angle of 315 deg to the positive x-axis (-45 deg) hits at a velocity of 15 m/s and sticks. What is the magnitude and direction of the velocity of the wreckage of the three cars immediately after the collision

Aspring is used to stop a 50-kg package which is moving down a 20º incline. the spring has a constant k = 30 kn/m and is held by cables so that it is initially compressed 50 mm. knowing that the velocity of the package is 2 m/s when it is 8 m from the spring and neglecting friction, determine the maximum additional deformation of the spring in bringing the package to rest.
