How would I go about solving this physics exercise: An object is moving at a constant velocity of v = 5m/s. If the object is at x = -12m at t = 2s, what was the object's position at t = 0s? I attempted to solve this problem by using the velocity formula (v = Δx/Δt), which gave me 5m/s = (-12m - x)/2, where x is the object's position at t = 0. I got the answer x = -22 but upon trying it I was told it was an incorrect answer. It seemed logical to me that an object moving to the right 5 meters every second and starting at -22m would travel 10 meters after two seconds and land on -12m, but it appears I'm misinterpreting something.
