A long cylindrical rod of diameter 200 mm with thermal conductivity of 0.5 W/m⋅K experiences uniform volumetric heat generation of 24,000 W/m3. The rod is encapsulated by a circular seeve having an outer diameter of 400 mm and a thermal conductivity of 4 W/m⋅K. The outer surface of the sleeve is exposed to cross flow air at 27∘C with a convection coefficient of 25 W/m2⋅K. (a) Find the temperature at the interface between the rod and sleeve and on the outer surface.
(b) What is the temperature at the center of the rod?

Apositive rod is placed to the left of sphere a, and the spheres are separated. which best describes the spheres? sphere a is negative and sphere b is positive because protons from sphere a are attracted to the rod and move to sphere b. sphere a is negative and sphere b is positive because electrons from sphere b are attracted to the rod and move to sphere a. sphere a is positive and sphere b is negative because electrons from the rod move to sphere b and protons then move to sphere a. sphere a is positive and sphere b is negative because protons move from sphere b to the rod and also to sphere a.

(a) assume the equation x = at^3 + bt describes the motion of a particular object, with x having the dimension of length and t having the dimension of time. determine the dimensions of the constants a and b. (use the following as necessary: l and t, where l is the unit of length and t is the unit of time.) (b) determine the dimensions of the derivative dx/dt = 3at^2 + b. (use the following as necessary: l and t, where l is the unit of length and t is the unit of time.)

Although longitudinal waves can travel through all media types what is the disadvantage of this type of wave transmission? a) he efficiency of he wave transmission is greatly diminished as the media becomes less dense b) the oscillation of one set of particles has a huge impact on neighboring particles c) particles become too close together as they bump into each other making it more likely to hit other particles down the line
