An 85 kg beam is fixed to a building at a pivot point (the origin) so the beam is completely horizontal. A cable runs from the building to the beam at a point located 2.5 m from the building and makes an angle of θ = 19.0 ◦ with respect to the building. The beam’s center of mass is 1.5 m away from the building. The beam maintains this horizontal position by applying a force directed into and down the building at the pivot point.

a. Draw the extended free body diagram for the beam (i. e. the beam and all forces on it).
b. What is the tension in the cable?
c. What are the x and y components of the force exerted by the building on the beam?
