A charged particle leaves a potential difference with a speed of 1221 m s and is headed East. The particle then enters a uniform magnetic field directed into the page with magnitude 42.42 T. When the particle enters the uniform field, it undergoes a specific type of motion, of which begins turning the particle toward the south.(a) Draw and fully label a diagram of the situation described above, including the motion of the particle inside the B-field.(b) Once the particle enters the uniform magnetic field, what type of motion will the particle undergo?(c) If this motion has a radius of 9.31 cm and the magnitude of the charge on the particle is 5.80 µC, determine the mass of the particle.(d) Is the charge on the particle positive or negative? How do you know? (e) (EC) The particle is a moving charged particle and so it establishes a current loop; as a current, it would produce a magnetic field of its own. Determine the magnitude and direction of the magnetic field produced by the "current loop," at the center of the loop. What is the total magnetic field at the center of the loop, if we superpose (add) the external field and the field produced by the "current loop?"

Unpolarized light of intensity i_0=750w/m^2 is incident upon two polarizers. after passing through both polarizers the intensity is i_2=280w/m^2. (a) what is the intensity of the light after it passes through the first polarizer in w/m^2? (b) write an equation for the angle between the polarizers in terms of the initial (i_0) and final (i_2) intensities. (c) find the angle between the polarizers in degrees.
