A boat crossing a wide river moves with a speed of 19.0 km/h relative to the water. The water in the river has a steady speed of 7.50 km/h due south relative to the earth.
a) If the boat heads due west, determine the speed of the boat relative to an observer standing on the shore.
b) What is the angle made between the velocity of the boat relative to the observer and the west direction?
c) At what angle against the steam must the boat be headed with respect to the west direction in order for it to proceed west as seen by the observer on the shore?
