What can we say about a polarizing filter with vertically aligned chemical molecules?

A polaroid filter is able to pass light with the help of a polarization filter. With a vertical polarization applied on the filter, then only vertically polarized light will pass through it. Any traces of horizontally polarized light will not pass through and exist on the other side of the filter.
