Our teacher gave us this question *if the torque applied to a rigid body is doubled, what happens to the moment of inertia of the body? explain. " i don't really understand rigid bodies"! and afterward the following in the theoretical determination of the moment of inertia i new with the additional masses, it was assumed that the masses are points. using the parallel-axis theorem, calculate the moment of inertia such that the diameter of the masses is taken into account. determine the percentage difference between this and the previous value. is it a valid approximation to assume that the masses are points in this particular case? " i'm not sure how can we tell if the mass is point or not and how actually i should do the calculation ? ?
