For this problem, refer to the efficiency equations a communication link provides 1 mbps for communications between the earth and the moon. the link sends color images from the moon. each image consists of 10,000x10,000 pixels, and 16 bits are used for each of the 3 color components of each pixel. a. how many images/second can be transmitted over the link? (do not consider frames, just the image size and the data rate of the link.) b. if the images are transferred in 1,000-byte data packets, of which 40bytes are taken up with headers (s0 (1000b-40b] is payload), how many frames are needed? c. what is the frame efficiency (f. d. if the frames are transmitted using stop & wait, how long does it take to get the first acknowledgement back from earth? the distance between earth and the moon is approximately 375,000 km. assume no errors for part c. e. what is the link efficiency using stop & wait? f. what is the link efficiency if there is a bit error rate of ber=10%? 3. suppose we want to improve our efficiency in problem 2 above by using either go-back-n or selective repeat. using the parameters in problem 2, including a bit error rate of ber=10s, and using the efficiency equations on the formula sheet in the exam folder in compare the go-back-n and selective repeat arq protocols in terms of their ability to provide reliable transfer of these images from the moon to earth. optimize the frame size for each case using trial and error (using matlab may be here).

At 20∘c, the hole in an aluminum ring is 2.800 cm in diameter. you need to slip this ring over a steel shaft that has a room-temperature diameter of 2.804 cm . 1. to what common temperature should the ring and the shaft be heated so that the ring will just fit onto the shaft? coefficients of linear thermal expansion of steel and aluminum are 12×10−6 k−1 and23×10−6 k−1 respectively.
