The viscosity n of a liquid can be calculated using equation: n=bpt, where b is calibration constant of the viscometer, pis the density of the liquid and t is time of flow through the viscometer. in one experiment, water was used to calibrate the viscometer at 25.0°c, and the time of flow was measured as 200.3+0.2 s. at 25.0°c, the density and viscosity of water are 0.99708 g. mland 8.909 x 10-g. cms, respectively. using the same viscometer, the time of flow was 425.6+0.5 s at 25.0°c for an unknown liquid with density 0.85667 g. ml. determine constant b and the viscosity of the unknown liquid with error analysis.

You and a friend (alex) are at a a tree-top adventure park .. . part of the course requires you to climb up a rope. you both climb the same rope in the same amount of time. however, the tension in the rope is greater when alex climbs. who did the most work? alex did - more tension means more force - more force means more work was done you did - less tension means less force - less force means more work was done to find the work done, the force exerted and distance moved are multiplied. a couch is moved twice before you are happy with its placement. the same force was used to move the couch both times. if more work is done the first time it is moved, what do you know about the distance it was moved? when more work was done, the couch was moved less. when more work was done, the couch was moved further. when more work was done, the couch wasn't moved at all. when more work was done, the couch was moved the same distance.

Consider a one meter long horizontal pipe with a constant 100 cm^2 cross sectional area. water flows rightward into the pipe at x = 0 with flow velocity 02m/sec at every point within the pipe intake area. at x=1, the rightward flow rate is 0.192 m/sec. assume the water is a conserved quantity in the pipe, so there must be a leak (a sink) somewhere in the pipe. 1. compute net volumetric flow of the source if the system to be in equilibrium. 2. now assume the pipe in the problem has no leaks. compute the net volumetric rate of change for the system.
