During which type of change can an atom of carbon become an atom of nitrogen?

Carbon is element #6, and Nitrogen is element #7.

In order for a Carbon atom to become a Nitrogen atom, an additional proton has to be absorbed into its nucleus.

The only place that can possibly happen is in the hellish heat and pressure deep in the core of a star with at least 30% more mass than the sun.  It's never gonna happen in your kitchen or on the workbench in your basement.
