         →  a²  +  6²  =  10²  ;   Solve for "a" ;

         →  a²  =  10²  –  6²  = 100 – 36 = 64 .

         ↔  a² = 64 . 

Now, take the positive square root of each side of the equation; 
      to isolate "a" on one side of the equation; & to solve for "a" ; 

         →   ⁺√(a²) = √64 ; 

         → a = 8 .

Now, to find the "perimeter" of the triangle, we add up all of the side lengths:

   6 + 8 + 10 =  14 + 10 = 24 .
