Work out the area of the trapezium abde

The two triangles seen in the picture are simular (congruent) and one is enlarged.

scale factor= 9÷6 = 1.5

8×1.5 =12 (the side length of the triangle)

12-8=4 (bottom side length of trapezium)

area of trapezium= 1/2× ((a+b)×h)

1/2×((6+9)×4)=24cm^2
