How to use the order of operations to simplify

PEMDAS.

P = PARENTHESES
E = EXPONENTS
M = MULTIPLICATION 
D = DIVISION
A = ADDITION
S = SUBTRACTION

When using the Order of Operations, you would have to refer to the order in which PEMDAS is used, and the order is listed above. Here, you would probably divide 32 ÷ 2 first because it is in parentheses, and P, the first letter, stands for Parentheses.The answer to that would be 16. Then comes to the exponents.

  would be 3 × 3 × 3. This would make 27, since 3 × 3 is 9, and 9 × 3 is 27. And there's the exponents done.

This leaves us with 27 - 16 + 7. Subtraction comes before addition. 27 - 16 would make 11, and 11 + 7 is 18. And there's your answer. 18.
