Find the y-coordinates of A, B, C and D, and sketch the situation.

b)

i) Find the gradient of the chord
AB.

ii) Hence use y - yı = m(x – xı) to write down the equation of the chord AB.

iii) Put y = 0 to show that the x-intercept of the chord AB is
- 1/e - 1
