A cell phone company knows that the mean length of calls for all of its customers in a certain city is 9.2 minutes. The company is thinking about offering a senior discount to attract new customers, but first wants to know whether or not the mean length of calls for current customers who are seniors (65 and over) is the same as it is for the general customer pool. The only way to identify seniors is to conduct a survey and ask people whether they are over age 65. Using this method, the company contacts a random sample of 200 seniors and records the length of their last call. The sample mean and standard deviation for the 200 calls are 8 minutes and 10 minutes, respectively. a. Do you think that the data collected on the 200 seniors are approximately bell-shaped? Explain.

b. Is it valid to conduct a one-sample t-test in this situation? Explain.

c. In spite of how you may have answered part (b), carry out the five steps to test the hypotheses of interest in this situation using α = .05. (Use a p-value, not a rejection region.)

You have learned about the six trigonometric functions, their definitions, how to use them, and how to represent them graphically. the sine, cosine, and tangent trigonometric functions can be paired with their reciprocal functions, cosecant, secant, and cotangent, respectively. think about how each function is related to its reciprocal function. how are the graphs of the reciprocal functions related to their corresponding original functions? what happens to the graphs of the reciprocal functions as x approaches the zeros of the original functions? describe how you would teach friends with different learning styles (visual-spatial, aural-auditory, verbal-linguistic, physical-bodily-kinesthetic, logical-mathematical, social-interpersonal, and solitary-intrapersonal) how to graph the reciprocal functions

Adecibel is a logarithmic unit that can be used to measure the intensity of a sound. the function y = 10logx gives the intensity of a sound in decibels, where x is the ratio of the intensity of the sound to a reference intensity. the reference intensity is generally set at the threshold of hearing. use the graphing utility to graph the decibel function. a whisper has a sound intensity of 30 decibels. use your graph to you complete the following statement. the sound intensity of a whisper is times the reference intensity.
