A football team scored 30 points in one of its games. It scored a combination of touchdowns (worth 7 points), field goals (worth 3 points), and safeties (worth 2 points).
The number of touchdowns the team scored was equal to the difference between two
times the number of field goals they scored and the number of safeties they scored. Four
times the number of touchdowns they scored is equal to the number of field goals they
scored. Set up a system of equations in standard form: Az + By + Dy= C, that could
be used to determine the number of touchdowns, field goals and safeties the team
scored.
Let x = # of field goals
Let y = # of touchdowns
Let z = # of safeties
