Chase has a rectangular garden which is 5 feet wide and 12 feet long. He wants to divide the garden into four sections by running a line of bricks down both diagonals as shown below. What is the minimum length of bricks that Chase needs in order to divide his garden? I know you use Pythagorean theorem but why?
