A SRS of 1500 college students were asked whether they applied for admission to any other college than the one they were currently accepted to. Suppose that 35% of all college students appled for acceptance to more than one college. After continued samples of 1500 college students were surveyed, known as a sampling distribution of p with hat on top the results were found to be normally distributed with a mean of 0.35 and a standard deviation of 0.01. Show all work including any calculator functions used and what was entered.
1. Sketch and label the density curve for this data set.
2. Determine the percentage of samples with a statistic greater than 0.37.
3. Determine the probability of the samples with a statistic less than 0.33.
4. Sketch the density curve for the solution of #3.
One of the probability rules states that if two events have no outcomes in common the probability that one or the other will occur is the sum of their probabilitites.
5. What is the probability that the sample result will be less than 0.33 or greater tha 0.35?
