12th grade statistic A case control study was performed by DuPont chemical corporation in 2018 looking back 20 years at residents from Parkersburg, West Virginia, where the company has been found guilty of dumping chemicals in the Ohio River. They compared groups of people who contracted Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in unusually high rates from this region to people who didn’t contract the disease from the same area in hopes to prove that exposure to those chemicals isn’t the cause for the unusually high rates of this cancer. A detailed report was provided to the public with the methodology showing a large sample size and solid statistical procedures being followed. Provide one reason to trust the results of the study and one reason to be skeptical of the results.
