Under certain conditions, 100 percent of the cells in
fungus A reproduce in 24
hours. The number of cells of
fungus A doubles once each
day.
Day 1 = 10,000 cells
Day 2 = 20,000 cells
Day 3 = 40,000 cells
Day 4 = 80,000 cells
When an antibiotic is added
to the fungus, the growth is
reduced by 50 percent. Only
half the cells reproduce each
day.
Day 2 = 15,000 cells
Day 3 = 22,500 cells
Day 4 = 33,750 cells
7. Calculate Without an
antibiotic, how many cells of
fungus A would there be on
