There are two urns containing numbered balls. The balls in the first urn are numbered 1,2,3,4,5. The balls in the second urn are numbered 1,2,3. An urn is chosen at random and then a ball is chosen at random from the chosen urn. Suppose that the probability of choosing the first urn is 2/3 and the probability of choosing the second urn is 1/3. Suppose that after performing this experiment, your friend reports that he got a ball numbered “3”. What is the probability that the ball he picked came from the first urn?
