Perimeter, Circumference and Area are often needed when calculating the cost
of materials. Provide one example of a situation in the real world where
someone would need to calculate the perimeter, circumference, or area of an
object. Explain how you would calculate this number and why you would want
to know the perimeter, area, or circumference of this object. Feel free to be
creative and try to not repeat the examples of your classmates.
Example
A gardener might want to know the area that is being watered in his/her field
since this will determine how many crops he/she can plant. Assuming that the
sprinkler is going in a circle, this would be the area of a circle. The radius, r,.
would be the distance the water can travel from the sprinkler head. The area =
3.14 r12.
