A particle of mass 2 units moves along the x-axis and has position function x(t).where t is in seconds. It starts at rest at x(0)= 10. It is subject to a force numerically equal to
-8x(t). (So it is proportional to the distance from the origin and directed toward it). It also experiences a drag (damping) force proportional to its velocity equal to 8x'(t). Where is the particle after 5 seconds?...Hint: mass * acceleration equals total applied force, and the drag force tends to decrease acceleration, so it would be negative. This is for differential equations class, please show work I want to learn this.
