Hypothesis test:
A health psychologist is interested in the effects of stress on the number of viral infections that people contract. He wants to know if people are more likely to get sick depending on the level of stress in their lives. He monitors 21 people over the course of a year who are experiencing different levels of stress and measures the number of viral infections they contract during the year. Following are his data and the results of a one-way ANOVA. Assume alpha = .05.
No Stress Some Stress Severe Stress
1 1 5
3 5 3
0 3 8
2 5 4
4 0 5
3 4 4
4 5 6
Analyze this data to answer the following questions. Please respond on the answer sheet:
What are the hypotheses in formal statistical notation?
Conduct the correct analysis using an online tool. If appropriate, be sure to include any post hoc tests that might be needed. What is his decision? Explain.
How would he report the results using APA style notation for reporting statistics?
Interpret the results and describe what the researcher found. That is, communicate the results in everyday language so that someone else can understand the findings. Use the descriptive statistics for each group to explain the pattern in the data so that someone else can understand your conclusions. Also feel free to draw/create a graph if that will help you describe the results as you compare each group.
Assume that the researcher had only included stress levels "none" and "some" in his study. What kind of analysis would he have done and what would his decision/conclusion have likely been? (You do not need to do any additional calculations to answer this question)
Copy/Paste/Screenshot the output from your online analysis into your answer sheet file for full credit (you will lose points if you do not include this).

Mary beth used the mapping rule to find the coordinates of a point that had been rotated 90° counterclockwise around the origin. examine the steps to determine whether she made an error. m (3, –6) is rotated 90° counterclockwise. (x, y) → (–y, x) 1. switch the x- and y-coordinates: (6, –3) 2. multiply the new x-coordinate by –1: (6(–1), –3) 3. simplify: (–6, –3) .
