These two questions I got semi-right on a test. I will also post the comments on them to help u tell what exactly I got wrong. if u don't know it, leave the question (05.05 MC)

What are the measures of Angles a, b, and c? Show your work and explain your answers. (10 points)

Two straight lines intersect at a point to form an angle a. The measure of the angle opposite to angle a is 30 degrees. Angle a is the angle of a right triangle having another angle equal to b. A triangle with one angle labeled c is on the left of the fi

A is vertically opposite to the given angle of 30 degrees. B is in the lower right corner if the right angle is above angle A. B + A + 90 = 180 degrees, A + B = 180 -90, A + B = 90, 30 - 30 + B = 90 - 30, B = 60. So, A = 30, B = 60, and C = 105.

CommentsComment:
You are absolutely correct! You just didn't explain how you knew that Angle C was 105.

A candy bar box is in the shape of a triangular prism. The volume of the box is 3,240 cubic centimeters.

A triangular prism is shown with a base of triangle labeled 24 cm, sides of the triangle labeled 15 cm, and length of the box equal to 30 cm.
Part A: What is the height of the box? Show your work. (5 points)

Part B: What is the approximate amount of cardboard used to make this candy box? Explain how you got your answer. (5 points)

Part B: What is the approximate amount of cardboard used to make the candy box?

24 x 15 x 30 is equal to 10,800. So therefore 10,800cm of cardboard was used because it's a triangular prism that means that's the sides will add to 1 whole

Part A: What is the height of the box?

15 cm

Part A: Given the volume of the box, along with the base and length, we can calculate the value of the height using the following formula:

V = 1/2 b * h * l = 2,400

b = base = 16

h = height = ?

l = leangth = 20

Substitute the values into the equation: 2400 = ?f=%5Cfrac%7B1%7D%7B2%7D × 16 × h × 20, Multiply 2400 = 160h, Divide both sides by 160 to isolate the variable. 15 = h

CommentsComment:
To find the height of the box, you are looking for the measure of the height of the triangle. Since they give you the volume of the box (3240), think of the formula to find the volume of a prism (You get the volume when you multiply the area of the base shape, which is the triangle, times the distance between the two bases, which in this case is 30.)

If you write an equation for, this, filling what you know, you can solve the equation to find the height of the triangle.

For Part B, they are really asking you to find the surface area of this prism, so you would need to find the area of each of the faces and add them together.
