For linearization, divide f(X) function into three equal pieces: [0, 2], [2, 4], and [4, 6]. Formulate the originally nonlinear problem as linearized problem in terms of the objective function and constraints. b) Solve the linearized problem using the Simplex Tableau by hand. c) A smarter piecewise linearization minimizes errors due to linearization. Write an objective function to minimize errors (area between nonlinear and linear curves) for f(x) between [0, 4], and find the optimal dividing point. (Hint: the integral of a function gives the area under the curve).
